What's the best camcorder to buy for filmmaking?

i'm not looking for a $3000 camcorder, maybe just a minidv camcorder or a dvd camcorder. i'd say the price range i'm looking for is in the range of $200-$400 any suggestions?

the canon dvd camcorder dc210 is awesome!i have had it for a few months and it works great and is so easy to work with!and it has hd.i have recorded every event so far in my life(while iv had the camera lol)and it looks great!i think its $300
