Why won't my videos Import onto Windows Movie Maker?

How can i enable Windows Movie Maker onto my Laptop import "failing" videos going onto the storyboard?

• What can I do to enable Windows Movie Maker onto my Laptop import videos from saved Youtube videos, that fails to download onto the Storyboard, but instead keep popping up a dialog box as follows??!! èC:\Documents and Settings\Frantz Juny\My Documents\My Music\Device E\New Year.good could not be imported. The required codec was not downloaded automatically because the Download codecs automatically check box is not selected in the Options dialog box??!! (2)How can I save downloads into VLC format directly rather than into Windows Media Player format indicated on the Downloads dialog box? Thanks!

  When you download a video from youtube, to be able to use it with WMM, you need to convert the file to format WMM can understand, which is not much.
