Samsung SC-DC173U MiniDVD Camcorder or JVC Compact Series GR-D750 MiniDV Camcorder???

I know that 1 uses miniDVDs and the other MiniDV but how come the MiniDV one got sold out first?!? Isn't DVDs more update than DVs. What's so bad about the Samsung? Please help. Which of the 5 on the webpage would you choose???
