What are videos editing software recommendations?

The software for my camera makes the videos for my editing software incompatible. How do I fix this?

  • I have a Sony cyber-shot and I can't view the videos with out the CD. So I installed said CD and watched some of the videos. I then tried exporting the videos to windows movie maker. Once in windows movie maker, it identified my videos as audio clips. How do I fix this?

  • Answer:

Your camera video file format is .mov and MM won't work with .mov unless the format is converted to something like .mpeg or .wmv format. Search the net for conversion programs. Some are free. Many users of .mov files use video editing programs that support all video formats. You might consider looking at a more featured editing program. They can cost around $50-$70 (US). MM is fine for easy and simple editing but it is limited, like being able to work with .mov files.

Maybe you need to try to use a DVD Ripper to rip the video to your computer and then edit it in movie maker. You can try this dvd ripper: http://www.my-video-converter.com/dvd_ripper/
