Where can I buy the best camcorder?

What camcorder should I buy (and where should I buy it)?

  • I want to buy a camcorder, $400-$800, and the most important features are quality and light-weight. It's primarily for filming my family. I know nothing about camcorders and need to buy it in a day or two. Any advice on specifc models, where to get the best deal, etc. would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!!

Look into (http://wize.com/) I bought a digital camera off of their site last week. They rank and rate products based off of user and expert reviews. I found the site to be helpful and easy to use. -well worth a look. Especially if your someone like me who knew they needed a camera, had a price rage, but didn’t know which product they specially wanted, or which would be best for them.

The camcorderinfo.com ones are good and are professionally reviewed so the Canon may be good. The others that have always been good are the Panasonic line. I would actually recommend to buy your camcorder at Costco if you find one that you like there. The return policy at Costco is nice and if you ever have a problem, any Costco can be used to return the item. Now for me, I got the Sony FX1 HDV cam from a professional site called b&h.

I would suggest you go to www.computers.com they review camcorders, and also, consumer reviews For each product. I personally believe Sony has the best camcorders. They also list the lowest places to buy them online. But always check it Wal-Mart first, they have a low price guarantee.
