I have an old Sony video camera and need to know what kind of cord to use to hook it up to my computer?
-
I need to know what kind of cord I should purchase in order to get my footage onto my computer. It is a Sony CCD-TRV118 Video Camera Recorder 7.2 V #384898 The side of it says "Handycam Vision video Hi8" It's an old camera and uses Hi8MP 8 mm video cassettes. I want to be able to put my footage onto my computer and edit it with a software. If you have any idea about what cord(s) I need to use to hook up this old camera to a relatively new laptop it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Answer:
I think you need the red yellow white cables and a USB video card device. That is an analog video recorder.
