For under $80, give me a break. Look in the used sections of the papers and on the interweb and such. That is about the only place you will find a MiniDv tape camcorder (best high Quality, good zoom and most come with a Mic port). It would take you in excess of $3500 in order to get a HD camcorder that gets equal to better video Quality than a MiniDV tape camcorder video.

very few cameras under $200 will have an actual zoom lens, most have a fixed position lens that does not either zoom or focus. the "digital zoom" will be just a 4x magnification, not a real zoom. a great mic? get real, you won't get a codec at that price that can provide decent audio. i know that you can get "camcorders" for as cheap as $25, but they won't make your "best" list.

The Kodak zi8 is pretty nice, it doesn't have zoom, but it has hd and an external mic jack. It costs about $70-80.
