How to get Hi8 video to a computer?

How do you get put videos from video camera on the computer?

  • i have a samsung Hi8 video camera but dont have a usb cord for it but want to put a video from in on my computer. i also have a dvd video camera. is there a way to transfer the video from the hi8 tape to the dvd camera? cuz i know how to get video from it to my computer. heelllppp.

    You need to get a USB cable for it. GO to radio shack or something (not sure if those are everywhere). Tell them what kind of camera you have and what you want to do, and they'll be able to show you which USB cable you need.

I am not sure about the exact model of your Hi8 camera. But I am sure that you can transafer the Pictures (Stills) to your computer using a USB cable. But not sure about the video. Why do you want to put the hi8 video to your computer as they are not digital..? The quality is going to be the same. If you are just planning to transfer all the old hi8 movies to a DVD, I will recommend you to buy an external DVD burner with Audio/Video IN.
