What is the best wireless mic for video cameras?

Legit, film-quality video camera?

• Okay, I'm sick of those "really good video camera? Oh but not too expensive only like a hundred dollars and I won't be using it for much and blah blah blah". With all the research I've done, I can't find a video camera where it's not $10000 or all it's reviews are from people who say its great quality - for family vacations, basketball games, etc. I'm very artistic and creative, and I like the video medium best - I like to provoke emotions in people through video. However, all mine have an amateur video quality (I do realize I may need to use external mic sources to get better audio - preferably not, but I'm aware). I'm not looking specifically for youtube, but if you look at users like charlieissocoollike and Julian Smith, what kind of cameras do they use? Or everynone (youtube or website), things like that. I had been looking into DSLRs for video use because of their quality of pictures, but one of my photography-oriented friends said not to. Of course I don't want those giant things you basically have to carry on your shoulder, but I understand something quality won't be cheap. Anyone have any information that could help me out here?

  A few points about charlieissocoollike's videos - they're well lit, the camcorder is steady and he edits them well (I didn't listen to the audio). I suspect he'd make good looking videos regardless of the camcorder! Something like the Canon HV40 will give you lots of control over your video, good quality and won't break the bank. You can use some of the savings to buy a tripod and head, lights and a decent microphone(s). Oh, BTW, MiniDV *is* digital SD.
