What wireless lavaliere mic (with quality for the price) is compatible with the SONY SR12 Handycam?

• I'm looking for connectivity with the SONY HDR SR12 Handycam and need to know if I can input audio for 2 lavalier mics in one video. There seems to be no XLR cable input on the camcorder so what kind of adapter is necessary and how does that work? I would like the receiver to fit into the Sony hot shoe if at all possible. If not, is there a XLR adapter with a mounting screw for the tripod? Please HELP! Anything is helpful! Feel free to ask further questions and I will get back to you.

  The Sony HDR-SR12 is an AVCHD-compression, hard disc drive based, consumer camcorder that has a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo audio input jack. Read the manual http://www.docs.sony.com/release/HDRSR11_handbook.pdf Page 112 for the location of the mic jack. The easiest way to use more than one mic is by using an XLR adapter. I like those from BeachTek or juicedLink (I like the juicedLink CX-237). The XLR adapter screws on to the camcorder's tripod mount and the XLR adapter has a mounting hole for a tripod, so you don't lose any tripod connection there. Audio Technica makes a wireless lav rig that has a single base station that can handle two different body-packs in the ATW-1821 system. I like the Sennheiser G3 Series 100 systems - 1 base station per body pack. You need that "portable" base station that not all wireless gear can deal with. Since the SR12 has a Sony-proprietary AIS hot shoe that is smaller than standard accessory shoes and is not exactly "robust" enough to hold heavy base stations, you really don't want to use it for mounting the wireless base station - I suggest using a camera bracket like http://www.adorama.com/FABT.html It can mount to the XLR adapter and there is still a mount for the tripod.
