Can I use a Sony Handycam (MiniDVD) as a webcam?

PLEASE NOTE: This does not have a HHD, its the ones that takes Mini DVD's.) I only ask becuase I'm going to go on a long journey and I have a laptop with an extra 200gb external, and I wanted to hook it up to the laptop, and use it as a recorder. I also wanted to go into interviews with it. But how can I use it as a webcam of some sort? Can I use CCTV software on my PC as the recorder? How do I hook it up? Will pay anyone who has a link to the product I need! Thanks!

Yes you can use it as a webcam, just go to a website that supports web streaming, all you do is connect the camera to the computer, and let whatever program your using switch on to the external device.
