Why won't my camcorder battery charge?

Camcorder battery not holding charge?

  lithium ion batteries start loosing capacity as soon as they are made.the reason they use them is higher voltage ie 3volts instead of 1.2volts nickle hydride .you get a smaller battery for the same power.the charger can be faulty giving a false reading,it is impossible to measure the capacity of a battery only the voltage .this is the reading the charger displays so the capacity can be next to nothing and it will display as full
