What cables do I need for my camcorder?

Need help with sony camcorder?

• Hi i hired out a sony DSR -Pdx10p from universty to film a video for a job now i need help as i can't capture it on my computer, as the driver is not installed on the compture and there is no disk witht he camcorder it's self can anyone tell me where i can get this from. and also the camcorder takes firewire 1st question where is it on the sony camcorder and 2, where is the firewire port on my computer i have a toshiba satellite and i can't find it the cables the universty gave me with this camrea are a fire wire and usb i found the usb port and the camrea would work doing that but there i need the drive can anyone please give this link as my new job wants to see this video by friday please this is really inportant. 10 points to who ever gives me the driver or gives me a link to it i was not given the installing software with this camrea when i hired it out.

  The Sony PDX10 is a professional grade camcorder that recordrds low compression DVCAM video to digital tape. To get the video from the camcorder to the computer, connect a firewire cable (not USB) to the computer's firewire port (not USB) and the camcorder's DV port (not USB). In this context, firewire, DV, IEEE1394 and i.LINK are all the same thing. USB will not work. USB-to-firewire cable/converter/adapters will not work. This is no device driver like USB needs. If the firewire port on the computer is working, then the importing will work assuming there is a video editing application that can import or capture the video. Like MovieMaker. Or WinDV. Sometimes the firewire port on the computer - if it has one - is marked "1394". If your Toshiba does not have a firewire port, hopefully it has an available expansion slot (either PCMCIA or ExpressCard) so you can add a firewire port. But, you did not tell us which Toshiba Satellite or which operating system... so there's not much more help we can provide... and it sounds like you need to learn to use the video editing application within 24 hours.
