What Editing Software is compatible with Sony handycam?

Can't playback video downloaded from Sony Handycam on software provided by them?

Recently purchased a Sony Handycam DVD/DCR308. It came with Sony's Picture Browser software. The video file will download just fine to the computer, and the software recognizes the presence of the file (mpeg). However, when I click on the view button, nothing shows. I can playback the mpeg on Windows Media so the file is fine, but I'll need editing capability. Sony's website is not very helpful with troubleshooting for the software. Anyone know where to get help for the Picture Browser, or should I try a different video editing software? (I don't want to spend a lot more money).

I had the same problem as you, so I ended up using Ulead MediaStudio Pro 7.0 to edit everything. Get ABC Torrent... http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/download.php Install that. Get edit software here while it "lasts" http://isohunt.com/torrents/?ihq=mediastudio
