How do I upload a movie onto my computer?

How do you upload a video on disk onto your computer to use in Windows Movie Maker?

  • I have a disk of a performance i want to upload and edit on Windows Movie Maker! I have the disk in but it wont let me import it to Windows Movie Maker. It says its not "valid" to play. But it does work playing on Windows Media Player. Help!

If it's DVD disk. There should be an option called "rip" in one of the drop down menu's. This will take the file from the disk and copy it into a new file on your computer. Then you can open that file with windows movie maker.
