How to upload JVC video through firewire?

I have a new model Dell, and need a Firewire or USB2 for JVC video, would it be on the front or back, inside?

  Depends on whether or not your Dell is equipped with those things and whether or not your video card can handle it. Often, the video chip on the Motherboard (Integrated Video) cannot really handle the demands of such an action sufficiently. Now, if you upgraded the Integrated video to an actual video card, then you would likely be ok. Second, you need to make sure that your computer supports the type of data your camcorder is sending. Is it PAL or what? Just check and make sure. If those work out, then you need to check for hte right cabling on it. There is a major difference between USB2 and USB1 ports as far as the speed of data transfer goes. It it is firewire you need, then look for a firewire port on the computer, if you do not have one, then check and see if any of the USB ports work, just try them one by one. Some of them might be USB2 and just not labeled such. Make sure you try the ones on the front and back of the tower. If none of that works, then you will probably have to buy a USB2 hub to go into your computer, which is fairly easy to install, or get it installed somewhere. Just realize that if you do that, then the warranty on your new Dell is void. Another suggestion, look and see if your video card has RCA jacks on it. if it does then try connecting via that instead of USB or Firewire.
