  • How to connect laptop to sony handycam? I have a sony CCD -TRV57E handycam that uses Hi-8 Tapes...i want to transfer to laptop..Acer TravelMate 244 Handycam has 1. A/V Out jack 2. RFU DC OUT Jack Laptop has a 1. 1394 port 2. 4 USB ports 3. 7 pin S-Video (female) Ive gone to the sony site and it show this Cable that i cant seem to find anywhere...sony doesnt sell this cable but is needed. Where can i find cable or any other way to hook up.? Thank-you

    The camera is not digital, (shame) but still easy to transfer the video. you will need a analogue to digital converter, they are not expensive. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=video+capture&x=0&y=0 the cheapest is arounf $8 but you are not going to get great qualilty, you need to spend a little more try $50 + everything you need is supplied.
