I need help with my camera/PSP!!!?

I have a Canon Powershot A540 camera and I love to take videos with it. Now, I also have a PSP but the PSP does not read the file format that my camera uses. I need to convert my videos to a mp4 format in order to download them to it. I just downloaded a file format converter but it doesn't have the option to canvert to mp4 format. Any ideas what to do?
