What is a good external mic for the Canon HV30?

I wanna connect a good mic (which is used by broadcast journalist) on Canon Vixia HV30 camcorder.How ? I'm new?

• I'm not sure the mic input in Canon Vixia HV30 camcorder can accomodate such mic that is normally used by professional broadcast journalist since the input is quite small. I'm new. But i need to work on the small camcorder (for mobility convenience) that has mic input like on Canon Vixia HV30 instead of semipro one. Pls help me. Thanks

  If by "professional mic", you mean one that uses XLR connectors rather than 1/8" (3.5mm) connectors, you can get an XLR adapter... I have and use a BeachTek DXA-6 and a juicedLink CX231... the mic connects to one end of the XLR cable, the other end connects to the XLR adapter, the XLR adapter connects to the camcorder's audio-in jack. Sennheiser and Sony make great wireless pro-grade stuff and the base stations are camcorder mountable - and they use 1/8" jacks...
