What is the best video camera I can get for around $300?

I would be using it to make short amature films, I'm 14. Also, it has to be usb compatible with a mac. A huge zoom isn't necessary, but I'm looking for mostly good quality and resolution so the film doesn't look amature. And I don't really care about size of the camera

Most Macs have a firewire port - get a firewire cable and a Canon ZR900 or ZR930. If you have a MacBook Air or one of the NEW Macbooks without a firewire port, then the Canon FS10 or FS11 flash memory camcorders will transfer over USB (you will probably need to convert that video with StreamClip). These are all entry level consumer cammcorder. Pro-grade starts at $3,000.
