Copying videos from camcorder to pc?

Change quality when I transfer video from camcorder minidv to PC or DVD ?

• Am I losing "quality" or information in this process of copying videos from our minidv camcorder to PC or DVD? when I will record 1 hour minidv to PC or DVD what time is need and how match of hard disk space is necessary? my camcorder is "sony DCR-HC 96"

  Depending on how your camcorder records, it can use a completely uncompressed format, which wastes space and can actually look worse on a player that cannot process the data fast enough. The file is compressed when you transfer it, which can cause data loss or picture degradation, but this is usually minor and unnoticeable. That said, I'm betting that your problem is that you're importing the video at a lower quality than you actually shot it at. Try going through your Options menus on your camcorder and on the software you use to transfer/record onto your PC or DVD.
