Video Capture/Editing: for starters, XP/Windows Movie Maker would provide the easy way to learn the process, SpiceFx by Pixelan could provide more effects later. Later, you may venture into other video editing softwares - Ulead, Adobe Premiere, Pinnacle, etc. with Hollywood effects after learning the editing tricks thru WMMaker Process: transfer video files from vcam to computer, i.e., using a program to receive the video stream from vcam into the PC and saving it as a video file. - connect vcam to computer via firewire cable (4 or 6 pin) for good transfer (USB may drop frames) - open (free w/XP) Windows Movie Maker in computer (for starters). **see/click WMMaker help ...it is very detailed. Steps a. Set the camera mode to play recorded video. b. In the Movie Maker Tasks pane/Capture Video, click Capture from video device. c. the video files from vcam will then be put into WMM collection (usually there are several video files from vcam although you will not notice on vcam playback). d. drag & drop video files one by one from collection to video storyboard chart below noting proper number sequence e. edit your video if you wish: add subtitles, effects, transition, music/ recorded narration, etc. f. finish your movie/ save the video files (WMAv) ...thus, transfer of the video files is now complete Finally …Burning to DVD First off, you'll need an authoring program like Windows DVD, Nero vision or Encore DVD. Import the video,. Once you click burn, it will automatically convert your .AVI files into mpeg-2 .vobs.

1. you need a cable to connect from camcorder to your PC. Dumb me, I made the same mistake. I brought a camera cause it was on sale cheap. After shooting and reading I found you can play back on TV but not PC-DVD. 2. Look on the back of your camera and if you don't see any hole with symbol (or read your manual) to connect a cable from it to PC, then it is not equipped to do so. which I believe is the case. 3. If it is equipped and you lost the connecting cord go/take it to a photo/or PC store (Circuit City, or Radio Shack) and buy the cord. It will cost very little.

Hi. The only way to do this that I know of is to buy a video editing program packaged with a hardware cable that converts a line in signal to USB. I use Video Explosion which works very well but I think I had to pay around $80 for it. If you go to Best Buy, they can show you your least expensive options. I know they have several different video-to-USB adapters available. You may want to check your camcorder for a "firewire" port. If it has that, you will only need to buy an inexpensive firewire cable. Using that, you may be able to edit your video with the media software already installed on your computer by Microsoft, hopefully not having to buy anything else. Good luck! I hope this was helpful.

Okay usually with a digital camera, it comes with a USB port and a CD-rom to put in your computer and install a special program for your camera. Usually you have to connect the USB to your computer and your camera, so they are connected. Hope i helped!

You should have gotten (with the Camcorder) some kind of cord that connects the camcorder to the PC via either USB firewire, or just a general a/v cable......if you didnt get that with it.....you need to go buy one, because thats the only way to take the movie to your PC. it'll only cost about $10-25 dollars for it depending which one you get....
