Good Quality Digital Audio Recorder to go with Video?

  • I want to get a good quality digital recorder for recording sound to go with the videos I record for Youtube. The video recorder I have makes a clicking noise in the audio so getting an external device is probably the best option. What device would people recommend/good review sites? It needs to be quite small and convenient for filming pets. My budget is a maximum of £100, ideally less than £50. The current camera I use for filming videos is a Canon Ixus 230 HS.

Standing close to a Microphone, in front of your camcorder, with both recording devices recording the video and audio, CLAP, LOUDLY. This is what we do to simulate the clapper board used by the film makers. Now so long as the recorders stay recording, you have a sync point so when you get back to the computer, it is much easier to sync the audio and video together.
