How do you take the audio out of a recorded video?

How do you take a still shot from a video you've already recorded?

  • I was wondering if there was any program that you could use to edit your videos that had the option in it to make a new frame (still shot) of something that you like in the video? For example, a video of family at christmastime and everyone is together smiling and you want just a picture of that. Is there a way to do that?

    easiest way(probably bad quality) is to take a screen shot of the moment you want captured with PRINT SCREEN button then pasting it to paint or whatever image editing software you use. I'm sure someone will give you the harder ( with better results) solution.

If you have it on your computer, you could always do a ctrl-print screen to copy the entire screen to your clip board, then in microsoft paint, do a paste. Then you can select, copy, make new, and paste to get just what you wanted. Do a file save to whatever type of file you want out of it. Kinda crude, but would work without looking for any new software.

If your camcorder is the type that takes stills, then as you play back the video, push the shutter for the still. Not all cameras do this but it is an easy way.

U r right Princess! Most video editing apps have this feature ... grab a pic/frame; take a picture usually on editing tools menu - preview ur video - pause on the desired frame - click tools/take a picture (i.e. movie maker)
