What is a NTSC camcorder?

If I buy a NTSC standard camcorder, what difficulties I will face in using it at Singapore(PAL) Standard?

    Good choice. Nearly all Singapore TVs are multi-standard. That is how we can watch any NTSC video. Buying PAL standard camcorder is a brain dead option. Its meant for European, Australian market (read verry expensive). You will see same models NTSC, PAL side by side in Hong Kong and the price gaps are huge. With NTSC standards, you can splice in any DVDs so you can be James Bond, or any American movie hero. Not with PAL. You will soon regret your purchase of any PAL equipments.

Conversion, Sir. I'm afraid you won't be able to use PAL encoding unless the camcorder is enabled for NTSC/PAL/SECAM/MESECAM, Sir. Have a nice day.

you will have no problem recording but you will not be able to recharge your camera until you buy a voltage converter. you also will not be able to wacth the movie on a TV in Singapore but you can only wacth it on your camera if it has a screen.

You can use the camcorder anywhere you want. You should also be able to view it on most modern tv sets - the vast majority of modern tvs are multistandard and can replay the various PAL formats and NTSC. You may not be able to play the DVDs in a local DVD player - some DVD players can read all formats - and you will still need a multiformat tv because DVD players read the video but do not decode to another format.

You can use it anywhere you want. To view it other than with the display on the camcorder, you may need to take a monitor with you or find a way to convert NTSC to PAL. You may also consider the power source for your battery charger.

you can't-you would need a pal tape and a pal camcorder and then transfer it to ntsc oncde you are back here in america
