How do I recover pictures on a Sony Memory Card?

Why are the pictures on my Sony Handycam different than the ones on my memory card that was in the Handycam?

• I took pictures of something i'm trying to sell on craigslist while the memory card was in the handycam. Then, i put the memory card in my computer and opened the pictures. The set of pictures on the card is completely different than previously captured pictures on the Handycam when i open pictures through the touch screen. It's like the camera is saving it to its "hard drive" instead of the memory card. Is there anyway to get the pictures transferred to the card? I don't have a USB cord. It's a Sony Handycam DCR-SR47.   To get pictures off the hard drive, connect the camera to your computer directly with a USB cord, then put the camera in its USB connection mode (see the manual). The camcorder will then look like a disk drive to your computer, just as the memory card does, and you can copy your images from the camcorder to your computer in the same way that you copy them off a memory card. Without connecting the camcorder directly to the computer, there's no way to get the images off the hard drive … unless you copy them from the hard drive to the memory card while it's in the camera (but I'm not sure if your model of Handycam can do this).
