How can I edit GoPro video with Windows Movie Maker?

  • I have a Toshiba laptop that I edit all my videos on and such. My GoPro makes the video files a MPEG.4 I need to know how to be able to edit the video with Windows Live Movie Maker.

WMV works with SD files only. Coverting your files to work with that useless excuse fro an NLE is stupid if you want HD video, There are many Video NLE programs sold for the $69 to $129 cost. Some, if not most of them can work with HD footage, although the minimum specifications to work with HD files usually require you to have a computer with a 4 core processor, a 1 GB video card & sound card, both of these add ons need to support Direct X 9 or better. Knowing this, one thinks that your laptop may never be able to work with HD video files from that Laptop.

The best fomat for Windows Movie Maker is WMV, MP4 is video format for most of mobile devices. if you want to edit video, AVS Video Editor is a great choice: It's also free trial, so that's always nice.

My WIN 7 Movie Maker Live--accepts MP4 video files.. ..if your having problems editing/.. You may want to first convert the GoPro File..into a 1080p File--useing Movie Maker Live.. === If your GoPro camera can produce a AVI File..that may be an improvement.
