Free Video Editor For .MOV Videos?

Converting .MOV video to .MP4 vids (HD Videos).. Kodak Zi8?

  • Got a Kodak Zi8 that is similar to the flip cams but is better IMO... It shoots video at 1080p @ 30fps and 720p vids @ 60fps. The only thing is that I can only retain HD video quality if I edit the movies with the (pretty weak) Kodak program it came with. If I want to use some of the programs my Vaio laptop has, it doesn't support .MOV format (something I'm sure Mac's support). Anyway, every time I try to use a free program for converting the .MOV to .MP4 (or MPEG), the video quality get degraded tremendously. Anyway, has anyone found a way around this? I don't have a Mac.. I have a PC. I want to edit the videos with a very user friendly and intuitive program. I don't want to spend lots of money on a program either. What are some recommendations?
