What is best video camera around $300?

Best video camera to buy? Have around £250 - £300 to spend - UK only please!?

• Hi are video camera is on the blink! We want to buy a new one for around £250 - £300. We only want to use it for holiday and for home use and won't be doing anything fancy it on it like editing. The one before we had we had to buy the little tapes for. Would it be best to now to for one with the disk thing? (sorry not very good with technology terms!) Just want something that is going to last, that I guess we can burn onto disks onto the computer and will do the job. Any ideas on best makes, or ones to avoid and any good offers around would be great! Many thanks in advance!

  I've got the Sony DCR-SR72 with a 60GB hard disc drive. It has a 25 x optical zoom and I'm very satisfied with it. It's simple to transfer to your computer and takes photos as well although these aren't brilliant.
