Question about the Canon Hv20?

Okay... have a Canon HV20 and Adobe premiere... cant get my HD tapes in 24p mode onto the computer... ANY HELP

i have adobe premiere, i have the HV20, i have a firewire... i have connection establihsed to my laptop. i have NO recognition from Premiere that it sees my HV20. whats up!? i have other programs that recognise the HV20, but then wont import/capture the footage from the tape to the PC. whats going on? (im a complete novice at this)

The CS3 version of Premiere Pro works great with the HV20 but anything earlier does not. Your best bet may be to try importing video using HDVSplit, which is a freeware app and then taking the video files it creates into Premiere for editing.
