Which video camera should I buy?

Which video camera to buy?

  • I would like to get into the short film/video making business, but have no knowledge about video cameras (etc.) at all (at least yet!). My budget is pretty tight (around £300-400) and anyway I dont see a point spending a lot of money to buy gear before I even know how to use it. Could you advice me with some good video camera which I would be able to take good quality video and will be able to easily transfer it to pc and edit it a lot (well that will be the main and important part I guess), I’ll be using Premiere or Vega I think. I would like to use it outside (daylight) a lot, but I am looking to get some night shots as well. And also I would possibly like to get the one using tapes. Thanks for all the responses in advance!!

If you want the look of movies, get a DSLR. The Nikon D3100 is a good choice. Camcorders will look like video. I don't know a camcorder in that price range to recommend.

If your into action shots and sports, try a Gopro
