Should I buy this camcorder?

I want to buy a camcorder what kind shoud i buy?

    i recommend a miniDV camcorder than a dvd camcorder since the only advantage of these dvd camcorders is that you can watch it on a stand alone dvd player as soon as you finished recording but quality wise it's not as good as the miniDV ones. with miniDV camcorders you get clear recordings even with long play (LP) setting. watching the video is easy, just plug into the tv and play it like a normal vcr. Cheaper in cost too! surely you'll go for a miniDV! have fun!

A DVD camcorder might be your best bet. Record, then pop it in your DVD player and watch what you filmed. Incredibly easy. Be warned however: Editing the video is difficult because DVD camcorders use MPEG2 compression. As for brands, I like JVC. Avoid Sony at all costs.

I would recommend digital. It will not degrade like analog. I like the MiniDV format and a DVD recorder to archive my tapes, via firewire. Then you can make copies on a computer faster than recording to the DVD Recorder.

Whatever you buy, don't buy "the type that uses small tapes that are put into larger tapes, then get played" that's so early 90's.

the best way to find what you want is to do some research yourself on the actual models. for your purposes, a dvd cam will work best for you. so go to www.camcorderinfo.com and read about all the dvd cams. if your not big on quality, get a cheap one. if you are, then read about 3ccd cams. hope this helps!

Why don't you try the Hitachi DVD camcorder, model #DZBX35A. It has a 2.5" widescreen, and 25X Optical Zoom, 1200X Digital Zoom and it's very light weight. You can also use it as a digital camera. It can convert any video rame to a still photo image and copy it to SD card. And it records all to a dvd to play in your dvd player. Look for it at Sears or h.h.Gregg, it's usually on sale for around $299-$399, pretty cheap for being a dvd cam. BTW you can also just plug it into your TV's A/V inputs to view the movie if you don't want to use the dvd player.
