Pls Suggest me a BEST camcorder under $500?

Hi Pros, Pls suggest me a good camcorder which can shoot best quality video and also the recording format (MiniDV or Hard Disk or SD Card)

I have always been a fan of Sony due to there picture quality and color. I would stay away from Hard disk, SD card style cameras, those limit you on how much recording can be done, and the SD card will run you a lot of money having to buy several cards. I would stick with a Mini DV format, they are digital, the tapes are really cheap and can be used over and over unlike old Analog VHS tapes. Also by using the HARD DRIVE type cameras you are automatically compressing your video to MPEG 2 and losing video quality. If you want the highest quality stick with a Mini DV.
