What's the best video camera for home movies?

I want to watch the home movies I made on a video camera on my computer.?

  • I borrowed a friends video camera to record a dance recital. Then I copied the video_ts folders onto my pc. Now I would like to know how I can watch these videos on my pc. I know that I can use dvdshrink to make dvd's with the files but what if I just want to watch them on the pc or put them on the internet?

Just double click that file and either windows media or itunes will automatically run

I'm going to assume your computer didn't come with DVD decoder software. Try VideoLAN - free and great media player. http://www.videolan.org/

you can watch them using any media player like powerdvd, nero showtime, or even from vcl media player.... u just have to choose the video_ts folder and click play button. if you want to put it on internet you have to convert the format of you video to either flash or mpeg. and then upload to the site you need. some websites wont require conversion you just have to upload the video, during uploading the format will be converted.

You mentioned that u copied the miniDVD's Video_TS folder onto ur pc.. I wud assume that these include .bup .ifo and .vob files- the video files. - Open the folder Video_TS in windows explorer - Then click on the 1st or 2nd .ifo file- which contains the info on chapters etc.. This activates the video on media player.

The VIdeo_TS file is VOB video, you can convert it to wmv or avi video. then you can use windows media player to play it on your pc.
