How much optical zoom does a video camera need?

Need a video camera for commentating on Youtube?

  • I am looking for a video camera that I can use excusively indoors to film myself commentating for Youtube. I am planning on being a commentator for Youtube, talking about companion animals and talking about future things that are going to happen about the humane society I work at. The video needs to be good quality and the sounds needs to be crisp and clear. I do not care about battery life, zoom rate and how far it can zoom, or anything else like that. What video camera would be able to capture my entire body while I am talkin, and pick up my talking crisp and clear? Do I need to buy a stand for it to rest on to capture my entire body? I am kind of new to this video camera lingo.

As far as crisp/clear sound goes, all good quality video cameras do about the same with the stock mic. Like you said, you'll be inside so most of that would depend on the conditions you're recording in. I'd recommend recording somewhere that doesn't have too much echo and is nice and quiet. As for good quality video, if you're looking for something with Full HD capabilities without having to splurge, I'd recommend the Kodak Z990! I have one and it's pretty good, it only runs at about $170 which is nice for a camera of it's quality! But if you want to go all out and have that SUPER good quality video then go for a Canon Rebel T3i!
