How do I burn Camcorder Video without a PC?

Transferring Video and Audio from Digital Camcorder to PC?

• What do I need to EASILY transfer both video and audio from my digital camcorder to my PC? I went through the steps in my Sony handycam handbook to transfer video which worked fine, but I can't seem to find info on how to transfer audio. I connected the supplied USB cable to transfer video and installed the ImageMixer CD that came with the camcorder. The handbook briefly discusses iLINK but doesn't give instructions on how to use it except for transferring analog video and audio from another device through the camcorder to the PC. Is iLINK the way to do this (I haven't tried because I don't think I have that cable)? Or is my USB connection for video and audio too, but not working for me? What software, if any, do I need if I use iLINK or some other method? Help please, but keep it in simple terms, I'm not an electronics genius.

  Ilink is the same thing as Firewire, which is NOT the same as USB. Firewire is also called IEEE1394. When you connected the USB to the PC, the audio is included with the video; it's in digital format. If you can output the camcorder signal to the PC via USB, there will be audio on it. Maybe your PC lost it's audio. Check your PC, right-click on "My Computer", select "Properties", go to "Hardware" tab, click on "Device Manager". See if there's a little yellow circle with an exclamation point (!) inside, next to any of the devices. If so, you'll need to take care of that first.
