What is the best digital camcorder out there?

What is the best digital camcorder on the market today? Im looking for a prosumer level camcorder.?

    One company stands above the rest: Canon. They have three models many would consider "Prosumer." The GL2, the XL2, and the XL H1. The GL2 is the most affordable of the bunch and is an awesome camera. The XL2, like the GL2 is a MiniDV camcorder but with better optics. In fact, it can use the interchangeable lenses from the Canon EOS line up. This camera is so good, Steven Soderbergh shot a full-length movie with it (Full Frontal, 2002). The really bad mamba jamba, though, it the XL H1. High def, baby! Couple the best resolution media with the best optics and this should really make your eyeballs stand out. Remember, Canon is an "image production" company first and foremost. NASA has been using their camcorders for a long time, going back to 8mm and Hi-8mm. Ask around, I think you'll hear the same thing.
