canon powershot. it is so simple to use with all the features and no confusing touch screen. ALSO you can easily charge it by plugging it into the wall, and you can easily put your pictures onto the computer. last, it has amazing picture quality, the best ive ever seen. my sister has a sony or some touchscreen one thats a little newer than mine but doesnt even compare!

That is a bit low for professional looking but Canon usually has great quality for even lower priced cameras. A referbished HV20 (HD) can run for $449 around £300. If you are looking to shoot at night I would suggest upping your budget.

What may be good for some, is not for others...If you can go to a place where they have display models...Ask to try the quality of them out...Just do mini clips of around the store, and replay them so you can see them...Most top brands have had to get very comparable in the market these days...so really it all depends on what YOU find fits your needs. I think you can also look it up in Consumer Reports, they may have something online in addition to their magazine. They give very real unbiased thoughts and facts on things like this.
