How do i get a video on my computer from my camera?

How do I get the video from my jvc camera to my computer?

  • I have the JVC GR-D750U digital camera. I want to know how to get the video from it directly to my computer. I have a dv to usb cord because i don't have firewire. But it's not working. If you don't know anything about dv to usb, then just tell me how you normally get the video from it, and I might be able to get it working. Thank You :)

It sounds like from what I heard, you need to have a firewire to transfer video to the computer. Which also means that your computer must have a firewire input. Now if you're using a camera that takes miniDV's then you may be able to transfer the tape to another camera that takes that same tape and uses a usb cable for video transfer instead. I guess another way to get it to the computer is if you had a dazzle. This allows you to connect your video camera to the computer through the RGB cables. You connect the cables to the dazzle and the dazzle connects to a USB port. When you buy the dazzle it should come with a video editing program. Doing this means that you'll have to hit record on your computer which is capturing while hitting play on the video camera. Hope this helps.
