How to save captured digital video as individual clips?

  • How to save captured digital video as individual clips? I am capturing video from my Panasonic GS500 and i am wondering if i can save some of the video as individual, split, clips; instead of one big movie file. i am capturing in windows movie maker, but that is not where i am editing. Please Help... i want to be able to save the split video as individual clips on my computer. not in editing software

  • Answer:

Import videos from your miniDV vcam in several ways: 1. Autoplay (just connect by firewire/ playback on) - can only split video by scene if on .wmv (one file per scene setting) but just whole file if on .avi 2. Thru bundled movie maker - similar to 1. 3. Thru a 3rd party video editing or capture app, e.g. Premiere - import video on .avi with setting <auto scene detect> thus individual clips by scene To what folders (create one) the clips are saved can also be set before import.
