How do you transfer a video from a video camera to a computer?

How do I transfer video from my digital camera to my computer?

  • My digital camera is a Kodak Easy Share Z1275. I connected the USB to the camera and the computer but how and where do I go to find the video to put it on the computer. I will be using this video with Windows Movie Maker.

  • Answer:

When you plug it up to your computer, turn your camera on. Then a pop-up will come up on your computer. Click 'Add all pictures to pc' or something to that effect. The video will be in there. Add them to your pictures album and then go to Start> My Pictures. Look for the video there.

when you connect the camera the computer is meant to find it and install it but sometimes this process requires the CD that comes with the camera... so if you have the CD then insert it and install the software, after this you may require to restart your computer, in most cases you dont... anyways connect the camera using the usb and then go to My Computer to find it, it should be there jus click on it and your in the folder oh make sure when you've connected the camera to your computer you turn it ON!! its exactly like connecing an ipod or an mp3 player... if for whatever reason you dont have a cd, then just connect it and wait hopefully it will find it, if it doesnt go to the camera's manufacturer website and try to download it from there good luck =) you fisrt go yo MY Computer and try to find it there

While you connect your Kodak Easy Share Z1275 kindly make sure of the following things; 1. Make sure you install the software from the disc that comes with your camera. 2. After installation of the software, try to open the software and search for the videos that you are looking inside your camera. 3. If point 2. doesnt work - then go in My computer and you might get an additional device (USB Camera) along with your C and D drive. Click on that device and try searching your videos. If you dont have your camera software disc, try downloading it from the below link http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/downloads/dln_ekn032924.jhtml?pq-path=6594/11033/11261 All the best mate!

All you do is connect the cord (transfer cord that comes with the camera) to your computer and then upload the video when the vid pops up! If you do not have a cord ( this may be if you bought the camera used or it did not come because it is not an advannced version of the camera) you may want to buy a memory converter, wich will pull alll of the memory from the memory cards onto your computer and it will download by itself onto a folder on youre desktop. hope this helps you out love gabby Lewis

Now that you've connected the USB to the camera and the comptuer, turn on the camera. http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/publications/urg00731toc.jhtml?chapsec=urg00731c5s2&pq-path=11033/11291
