  • I have a panasonic dvd palmrecorder.I tried to use the s video cable to connect it w/ my pc using windows movie maker,to play and edit my recorded video but the pc can't detect the capture divice (camera),could sombody teach me how.thank you very much

  • Answer:

You cannot use your s-video cable to "rip" your video to the PC for editing. Capture devices are only detected via Firewire or USB with appropriate driver software. The S-video cable is used to connect your camera to a TV or monitor for playback only. Hopefully your camera has one of the connections you need. If not, then you will have to put your finalized DVD into your PC and use DVD-ripping softward to convert the DVD video into a format Windows Movie Maker can use, such as AVI. Good luck.
