What camcorder should I purchase?

Do you have any suggestions of what camcorder to buy for my first purchase?

  • I want to give it as a gift to my 22 yrs old son but know little about what to look for. It needs to be of good quality but not extremely expensive. I want one that will also take still pics and and can be downloaded to the computer and/or TV. Thank you for your time

how bout the brands? any brands is ok? if yes, i suggest for Sony Handycam and there are many types of handycams too. mini-dv, DVD camcorder, HDD camcorder, or the latest is Full HD but i suggest HDD camcorder with Full HD technology inside. cos HDD cam could take video much longer than DVD and mini-DV but it also depends on the battery also.^^ and i suggest the Sony SR-12E camcorder. although its quite expensive a bit but you'll satisfy with the video later thats all
