Why won't Minecraft work?

Why wont my minecraft server wont work...?

  • Me and my buddies want to play minecraft together so i decided to try creating a server, i first did the hamachi style but when i got a new computer (max os x) it wouldnt let me run it anymore. So i did the other way i portforwarded the minecraft server so it was online and they still couldnt join, or when they did it was laggy. So my friend decided to make a server and he portforwarded to and i still couldnt join, is there something wrong with my router (Dlink DIR-218) or am i just dumb and missing something?

  • Answer:

Tutorial's -> http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Dlink+DIR-218+port+forward+tutorial&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a I Cant help much as I'm not too familiar with mac's.. But the Host should Connect using... Localhost And players join using the server's External IP.. Found by Visiting -> http://www.whatsmyip.org/ (On the Server Host's Comp) Hope it helps :)
