I have a netgear wireless router. i cant find the file i saved my WEP key to. How do i find my WEP key?

i just got a new laptop and i cant find the file (on my old laptop) where i saved my WEP key so i dont have to worry about it but i cant find it. I have a netgear router and i need to know how to find out what my WEP key is for my new laptop, otherwise i cant go on the internet. please help, thank you

Just start all over again..hold a pin in the back of the router for 10 seconds (factory restore settings) then start all over again..

Plug your laptop into the router using a cable, type the router's IP address into your web browser and you can then log onto the router and you'll be able to change the WEP key within the Wireless Security.

I totally agree with the above answer. Reflash the router with an upgraded firmware version, and create a new key. I put new firmware on my linksys after I did the same thing you did, and I'm good to go now.

On you OLD laptop find your IP here ( http://whatsmyip.org ) and type that into your browser window you should find you WEP key there. If not connect your new laptop to you router using a cable and find it that way...

Boot off a bootdisk called minipe (google it) there is a tool on there which recovers your WEP key.
