How can I change a GIF file to a JPG/JPEG file?

  • There's this picture I want to put as my Yahoo Avatar but they don't allow GIF file formats so I was wondering if there is anyway that I can change the file format. Do I have to buy any software? Thanks

    paint is easiest. right click image, click edit. (if paint is your default program for editing images) file > save as the box under the name of file box, it should currently say ".gif" or something similar choose .jpg choose destination for the file. confirm save by save.

Open it in an image editing programme. Paintshop Pro, photoshop, the gimp (a free programme), etc. Save as, then choose the relevant file type, in this case, .jpg

I suggest you open the gif file using Paint and then when you go to save it, change the file extension to JPG.

I foyu change it to a JPG you will lose animation on it if it is an animated .gif. Right click the file and choose open with and choose paint, then use save as option and drop the box down to save as a JPG

Open the picture with Photoshop. file - Save As - select the file format as JPG

just right click that file and click edit. . . or open the file with ms.paint. select- -- file-->saveas option.. save it with your desired file type

You usually cant because GIF usually mean that the image moves
