How can I open a jpeg file?

How can i change bitamp file to jpeg file?

  • i have windows xp..i clicked some photos with my i ball web cam its a bitamp file, how can i change this file to jpeg because photos cant be uploaded in my hi5 profile ...plz help

  • Answer:

Just rename it. Right-click it, choose Rename. If it's "Pic.bmp", change it to "Pic.jpg". Make a copy of the original file (copy/paste) to another folder first, in case the changed file won't work. It will warn you that the file might be unuseable if you change the file format, but I've done this a thousand times on XP and it always works (but do make a copy like I said, just in case).

well. heres the easy solution... may or may not work... You can try opening the file then go to "save as" and rename the file and under the file type in the drop down choose Jpeg.

Elley

Just open the photo and go to your toolbar and click file and save as, and you will get a window open and at the bottom click JPEG. Ypu will have two copies then 1 in bitmap and 1 in jpeg

you can use paint to convert within these formats Raja www.SAPTechnical.COM

SV R

The best way is to use a software specially designed for this, like Photoshop. But if you don't really mind to loose some quality, just open the photo with paint (right click the picture - open with - paint), and then select file - save as..., write the name of the picture and select from the drop-down list *.jpeg or *.jpg. :D

blue_veek

use a program that can read both and save it as the other

Talking Hat

just use windows paint open it and then save as.. or paint shop pro or just about any photo program.

use paint to open the bitmap file, then select save as..., then choose jpeg or whatever format you want under Save as type...

Death Blade

Open the file in MS-Paint and use the sequence : File - Save As - Save As Type - JPEG and then save it. That's all you are done.

imranfar4u

try to save it again as ipeg, if this way doesn't work, try to send it your e-mail, open yr e-mail and save it again in your computer as ipeg, i think you know how change the kind of file 1-click save 2-put name for the picture 3-change kind of file form bmp to jpeg 4-choose place where you want to put it 5-save
