How do I transfer my iTunes library from one computer to another?

How do I transfer my iTunes library onto a new computer without the old one?

  • My PC containing my vast music collection was stolen so recently I bought a new Macbook Pro. My iPhone still contains all my music but I'd really like to add some new music but I can't figure out a way to transfer my music onto my Mac. I can restore my purchases but not the music from CDs or music Ive bought from other websites. Please help!

Easy! Plug your iPhone into your computer. Open iTunes. In the File menu at the top press Transfer Purchases from iPod (or iPhone I guess it would say, I don't have one.) To buy new music, just set up your iTunes account. To add new music just buy it from the store with your Apple ID/iTunes account.

Get a harddrive so you can save all your stuff such as your music pictures stuff like that. That is always usually the best way to back your stuff up. Go to Amazon and look up hard drives. If you have a lot of stuff to save then you may want to get a hard drive with a lot of space with 500 GB. If you really need a lot of stuff to save get a 1TB. I know with the Ipod once you sync your music to a computer you can not do that with another computer. Probably just a bunch of copyright crap. Well good luck.
