Why is my computer too slow too watch videos and download anything?
-
My computer was perfect. It is a gaming computer. So you would think you could watch videos and download stuff right? Well, one night it was working perfectly, the next morning, I couldn't get on internet. My cable was not touched at all. I set up a Wireless Connection. It worked but my internet was really slow. You couldn't watch any videos from Youtube, etc. You also could not download anything at all. A few weeks ago, I plugged my cable back in and it gave me internet but, it still wouldn't download or stream videos. What the hell went wrong?

Answer:
Try unplugging your cable modem and router for a few minutes then plug them both back in. Could just need a good ol reboot. Make and model of the computer would help too.

Hmm dats pretty strange. Is it a labtop? If it is and ainxe u did say wireless connection, try unplugging it again and reconnecting. If it doesnt work, go to networksettings and see if anything is disabled. If its styl the problem call your internet provider, they will help you out

I would try hooking directly to your cable modem and bypassing the router, if that solves it, bad router. If not, you probably have some sort of virus, run smitsfraudfix (google it), then antimalware by antibytes, then you can also do an online scan at trendmicro, see if that fixes it.

The question is what speed did you avail from your ISP? if it's the lowest plan definitely you can't use out most of your connection. but if you have the higher speed then it's the right time to call your ISP for help. it's not mean that you have the best computer you also have the best connection. it will still depend on...

Well, first wireless internet is always slow. Streaming and downloading all has to do with the internet provider, the one providing access. Give the provider a call and a tech will come and fix whatever is goeing wrong with the connection.

It sounds like the issue is with your Internet access, no your computer. What kind of Internet is this? Cable? DSL? Satellite? What's the advertised download speed of your plan? What speed do you measure when you go to speed testing sites like speedtest.net?

your computer might be at update check out is the update is running or not at the right side of the task bar.
