How do you transfer your itunes library to a flash drive?

How can I backup my Itunes library if I don't have an external hard drive?

  • Usually I just backup my entire library to a few DVD's but now it seems you can't do that on the new Itunes. Is there anyway I can just backup my library to a Flash Drive? I have tried just dragging and dropping the files into the Flash drive folder but that didn't work, the files wouldn't transfer over. I'm on Windows 7 by the way.

  • Answer:

If you have a Blu Ray drive for your computer, you could get some BD-R's and use ImgBurn to write them to a Blu Ray. The BD-R's I have are 25GB in size which is a whole lot larger than a standard DVD-5, so you can fit more information on it. I'd say it's better though to save up and buy like a 1 to 1.5TB external hard drive and backup to that. It's probably more storage than you'll ever need, but it provides plenty of space for backup.
